My MacBook Pro has gone south. I cannot pinpoint the issue, but something is keeping it from booting. Apple can't do much because it's 6 years old, outside their window of support. Since it exhibits the same behavior from four different hard drives with four different versions of Mac OS X, and while trying to boot in recovery mode over the Internet, I, with agreement of an Apple tech I got some phone support from, determined the problem is not associated with hard drives or the operating system. Until I can get a suitable replacement computer photos are on hold.

Hi Julie. We have much older Macbooks in use at the office. My 17 inch Macbook Pro had a known problem. I got a refurb 15 inch that's 5 years old. The biggest problem is when they can't support the latest software if you happen to need the latest. That hasn't been a problem at home, but it does cause problems at the office from time to time.

Hey Tim .. my MacBook is coming up to 6 years old too .. and I’m getting nervous. Best of luck with getting your replacement.

A new, used computer is up and running, but posting photos is "Not Even!" at the moment.
