Demolition of the fountain on Civic Plaza in Downtown Albuquerque started this afternoon. I took photos looking in the four cardinal directions and from the ordinal directions around the east side of the plaza and 3rd Street.

Hi David. They are just tearing out the fountain and area around it. About a quarter of the plaza I would guess.

Are they tearing out the entire plaza for the new park, or just the fountain part?

These are nice documentary photos,Tim. I hope the new park is as beautiful and inviting as their banners depict. You could assemble a whole book on Albuquerque and its history!
