I went to the Super Nationals car show at Expo New Mexico on Sunday afternoon and had the pleasure of meeting Wendy Riesland who races a rail dragster named Orange Crush, sponsored by NAPA. Orange Crush was set up for sand racing at the Super National show, with tractor-like rear tires and wider front tires on solid rims. By changing out the rear end, putting slicks on the rear and thin, wire rimmed wheels on the front, Orange Crush is ready to take on the traditional 1/4 mile drag strip. Wendy's husband told me they had just uploaded a video of her sand racing, but I didn't find it. However, I did find a video of Wendy racing Orange Crush on a traditional 1/4 mile drag strip, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCxkycZ5oYA, and an "orange crush dragster ride along" drag cam video where the action is recorded from the driver's seat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qVdvLIFzYg. Albuquerque's 2015 drag race season begins March 7th at Albuquerque Dragway.
