The pet parade launched the Corrales Harvest Festival. I think there were a few more dogs than horses, so the blog goes to the dogs today.

While I was looking for some archived images, I came across photos I had done of the Menger Hotel in San Antonio, TX when we stayed there for a Biblical Archeology Conference in 2004.
We were busy the whole time we were there, and I realized I hadn't taken a photo of the outside of the hotel when we were checking out, so I ran outside, stood in the rain, and took a couple of photos of the front of the hotel. I made adjustments to the exposure from one shot to the next (I was using a high end point-and-shoot camera with a manual mode at that time), so there was a minute between shots.
When I downloaded the photos I noticed that there was a person in the far right window in one photo but not the other, but I hadn't noticed a person in the window when I was taking the photos. As I looked at what looks like a woman in an old fashion dress in the window, I noticed that she is completely out of scale to the window. She could be a child, but to me she looks like a mature woman.
I've always wondered if I captured an image of a ghost. My camera was only 5 megapixels, so the image is not good enough to zoom-in and get a clear image of the woman at 300% to 400%, especially since the lens was wide open at ƒ/1.8. So in keeping with the standards for "ghost photos", mine are quite fuzzy zoomed-in.
Legend has the the Menger Hotel is haunted, and the hotel had stories about ghosts in its bedside literature.

When I was at 4 Paws Pet Hospital to pick up kitty meds and kitty food, Paw Lee the 12 toed kitty was cute as ever.

The cooler nights leading up to this last day of summer 2015, have been a reminder that frost will soon lay the wildflowers to rest.

A tattered pink bloom, looking like a broken heart, slowly fades on our giant, mutant Dr. Huey that has bloomed again at the end of summer.

A green hornet feeding on a cosmos before it fades away.

With the Fall Equinox only two days away, trees are starting to change, geese are flying in, and fall colors are settling in around us.

Progress on the Imperial Building as of September 17, 2015. The colors of the construction materials are very "New Mexico".

The back side of the building. The grocery store will be on the bottom floor on the far left, and restaurant/fast food space on the far right.

Northeast corner showing the back side of where the grocery store will be on the street level.

Southeast corner. The grocery store will take up all the space on the bottom floor at this corner and all along the street level on the east side of the building.

Front of the building. It would actually be a much better looking building if it really curved like the distortion from the super wide-ange lens

Southwest corner with space for a large restaurant on the corner, and three retail spaces on the south side of the building east of the restaurant.

Northwest corner has spaces planned for small restaurants or fast food places.

When we walked over to 320 Gold S.W. to climb stairs, a Sheriff's Deputy was taping off the area around the entrance, and there were ropes hanging down from the top of the building. I asked what was going on and he said they were having a fundraiser for some charity. As we walked around the taped off area, a woman was announcing over a loud speaker that for a donation of $500 anyone could go up and rappel down the side of the building. When we got to the top floor the door to the 16th floor was open, and I looked in and saw that the door to the roof was also open. The women standing at the door said I could go out and take photos. I had just finished taking a few shots when two men started rappelling down the side of the building. I ran down the 36 flights of stairs, and when I stepped outside, they were about halfway down. I got a few more shots as they made their way down the brick wall, and over the windows to the sidewalk below — they got a round of applause from the people standing on the street watching when they touched down.

Every Sunday local farmers and farmers from nearby communities sell the produce and goods at the Corrales Growers Market.

I opened the front door this morning to let Guildenstern out, and a spider had built her web between the frame and was blocking the door. The minute I saw her there she reminded me of the Far Side comic of the spiders who build a web at the bottom of a slide and one spider is saying to the other "If we pull this off we'll eat like kings!" (http://www.lolroflmao.com/2011/09/07/spider-kings-slide-web-far-side/).
I left her there until we left the house at 5:30 pm, then I took down her web and moved her to another part of the deck, which she wasn't happy about in the least. When we got home at 10:30 pm, she was busy building her web higher in the door, so we could duck under it to go in the house.
