Thanks, Julie. The rail yards was the largest steam locomotive repair and maintenance facility in the country. Our neighbor started working on steam locomotives as an apprentice machinist when he was 18 in the late 1950's. Once the diesel electric locomotives took over, the rail yards were eventually abandoned. There was a round house that was torn down many years ago. Too bad it would have been a nice historic part of the rail yards. It has been used in lots of movies and TV shows in recent years.
