Perspectives on a Pile of Cats

March 25, 2016  •  16 Comments

From Spunk's Perspective

While I was laying around on the couch this afternoon, I got a pile of cats on me. They had nice perspective, and were persistently comfortable in managing to keep me on the couch for a long time.

Laurie got this shot bringing me a camera.

Spunk does have moments of cute and calm.

Spunk with his tongue our a little. You can see the birthmark on his nose.

Spunk, Rosencrantz, Sasha on me and Najar on a cabinet thinking about joining the other kitties.

Give Us Sunshine

March 22, 2016  •  10 Comments

In these times of trouble, when the dark clouds of terror descent on the civilized world, we need a little sunshine to see clearly, and light our way in the darkness.

Three Little Daffies Don Peach

March 20, 2016  •  14 Comments

These are the same "Three Little Daffies" that were yellow when I posted them on March 16th. The daffodils are named "Pink Wonder" and are available from Breck's.  They start out yellow in our alkaline soil and then turn peachy orange a day or two after they bloom.

The Three Little Daffies turned peach, joined by a forth that is still yellow.

Free Style

March 20, 2016  •  10 Comments

At the end of the Kicker Arena Cross Competition there was a Free Style demonstration by two riders. Some of the signs that happened to be on as the riders flew by seem rather appropriate.

They used the ramp to launch themselves into the air where they did various stunts, and landed on the dirt mound. You can see an animated gif of the rider making the jump at https://photoofthedayetc.wordpress.com/2016/03/20/free-style/

The finale involved lighting one rider on fire.

He did a flaming flip. Unfortunately, a very bright sign came on and messed up my exposure.

Safely on the ground, and still burning.

He rides a fiery victory lap.

The rider gets covered with a wet towel to put out the fire.

Still Smoking

A smoking wave to the cheering crowd.

Comic Relief

The cat in the bag is not happy!

Diné reads a "Tin Tin" comic book in French as comic relief from waterboarding.

When I started watering with the warmer weather, I discovered all the little cracks in the hoses and connections from freezing over the winter.

Another month gone by. Another sliver moon in the western sky.
