Spider & Snake

This spider had spun its web across the path just outside our front door.

Laurie came across this garter snake on the path while she was out running.

Close up of the spider feeding on the bees it had caught.

Thanks, Julie! It is too bad about the bees, but the spiders don't discriminate. Garter snakes are rear fanged, very mildly poisonous — they are considered harmless to humans.
I always feel sorry for Bees caught in webs .. I've even released them before. I know .. Silly ah. That spider looks like it has a feast ready to go. Are garter snakes poisonous Tim? I would have sprinted off either way
